Obituary: John P. Domina Dies After Long Illness
Well-Known Farmer of Obert Dies from Cancer of Stomach
John P. Domina, for several years a resident of Cedar county, living nerar Obert, died Wednesday, February 17, at St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City from cancer of the stomach from which he had been suffering for over seven months. He had been in the Sioux City hospital but six days when he died.
Mr. Domina was born in Enosburg, Vermont, October 26, 1867, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Domina, sr. In 1891 he was married to Miss Lillie Blakeman at Omaha. The family lived for many years near Verdel where they made their home on a farm. Later they moved to a farm east of Hartington where they lived one year, after which theyy made their home near Obert.
Mrs. Domina and four sons, Leslie, Carlton, Frank and Clifton all of Obert, and one daughter Mrs. Fred Hooker of Meridian, Idaho survive. He also leaves four brothers, E. G. Domina of Hartington, B.W. of Fremont, Otis of Isabel, S.D. and P.C. of Goldfield, Nevada and three sisters, Mrs. Bell White and Mrs. Kate Augustus of Boulder, Colo., and Miss Fannie Domina of Denver, Colo.
Mr. Domina was a member of the Royal Neighbor lodge at Valley where he resided when he first came to Nebraska. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. M. Kearns in the Presbyterian church at Laurel, Saturday afternoon at 1:30. Burial was made in the Concord cemetery.
