After months of intense suffering from an ailment generally diagnosed by physicians as cancer of the stomach, John Domina quietly passed away at his house Monday at 5 a.m. while his wife and other relatives watched at the bedside.
The deceased was ill almost two years and no one but his faithful wife knows what affliction they have passed thru. Death was welcomed by him as a deliverance from his long suffering. Mr. Domina has resided in this vicinity for about 30 years and his children have grown up here and gone out in the world for themselves. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. and the Modern Woodmen lodges and in the latter he held a life insurance policy for $2,000.00 in favor of his wife.
The funeral was held at the house Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Rev. Taylor officiating and interment was made in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The pall bearers were selected from the two secret orders to which he belonged and the I.O.O.F. order took charge of the burial ceremony.
John Domina was 66 years of age and he leaves a wife, five sons, Parker, Ezra, Burt, Otis and Pearl Domina, and three daughters, Miss Fannie Domina of Denver, Col., Mrs. A. White of Boulder, Col. and Mrs. Ora Augustus of Fremont. Three sons from out of town, Parker and family, Burt and family, and Ezra Domina, and one daughter, Mrs. Augustus and husband, besides Lou Domina of Kansas, a brother of the deceased were in attendance at the funeral.
