Obituary, Cottam---
Mildred Irene Cottam was born Feb 20, 1900, near Hubbell, to Charles and Mary Strosnider. She passed away on Oct. 31 at the Nuckolls county hospital at Superior, at the age of 73 years, 8 months and 11 days.
She married George Cottam on July 30, 1917, at Hebron. To this union 12 children were born. She lived most of her life in Hubbell and the last 29 years in Edgar. She was a member of the United Methodis church of Hubbell.
Survivors include her husband, George, of Edgar; four sons, Bernard of Herefor, Tex., George Jr. of Hastings, Allen of Lompoc, Calif. and Larry of Superior; four daughters, Mrs. Edith Kotil of Staplehurst, Mrs. Marguerite Lowe of West Point, Mrs. Darlene Cox of Edgar and Mrs. Donna Lewis of Oak; 28 grandchildren and 24 grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Nov. 3 at 1:30 a the Umbauer chapel in Edgar with Pastor Charles Carter officiating. Mrs. Eileen Mikkelsen, organist, accompanied Mrs. Carol Penner and Miss Deborah Carter who sang "In the Garden" and "Rock of Ages.
Casket bearers were E.O. Watson, Michael Moore, C.J. DeJung, Robert Black, Edward Wenske and Ralph Peters.
Interment was in the Hubbell cemetery.
