Marguerite Louise (Cottam) Lowe, born September 17, 1925 in Hubbell, NE to George and Mildred Cottam, passed away December 2, 2015. She was one of 12 children; 7 boys and 5 girls. Marguerite graduated high school in Elk Creek, NE. then went on to marry Earl E. Lowe on June 6, 1942, in Seneca, KS. Earl was an educator and served as a superintendent at various schools. Marguerite was his able, unpaid assistant at all of the schools, performing a multitude of tasks, all the while filling the role of full-time homemaker. When Earl retired in 1984, he and Marguerite moved to Lincoln. They continued their history of working together by working part-time at the Cotner Center in Lincoln for another 10 years before fully retiring in 1995. Marguerite and Earl were married for 55 years before his passing in 1997. Marguerite had four children from her marriage; daughter Joyce, passed in 2006; daughter Carmen, passed in 1987; sons Jerry, Phoenix, AZ and Clark, Lincoln, NE. She has 14 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Services will be held Monday December 7th at 12:30 pm at Lincoln Memorial, 6800 S. 14th St, Lincoln. Family will greet friends 1 hour before services.
