Gwennola Elizabeth Clark Blonquist

1912 - 2007

On July 10th, 2007, our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend, Gwennola Elizabeth Clark Blonquist, left us to join those she dearly loved and missed. Grandma was one of the most genuinely loving beings on this earth. The wants and needs of others always came first, coupled with a lifetime of service and devotion to her family. Her life exemplified the motto "Charity Never Faileth". She gave without reservation of her time and love to anyone who was in need.

Born on April 22, 1912, in Coalville, Utah, to Joseph and Elizabeth Bagnell Clark, she graduated from North Summit High School in 1931, and lived all of her life in Coalville.

She married Howard Blonquist on August 6, 1933, they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. They worked side by side together on their ranch in Chalk Creek, raising various animals.

She will be remembered for always staying busy, using her hands in many ways from making numerous quilts for her loved ones and wallpapering many homes to canning, cooking and baking. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Coalville Camp and The North Summit Senior Citizens. As a member Coalville 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in various callings, including a visiting teacher for many years. She was an avid sports fan, her favorite team being the North Summit Braves.

She is survived by her beloved family, daughter Jeneil (Allen) Fairbourn, Mountain View, WY; son, Alf (Laura) Blonquist, daughter, RaNae (Roger) Crittenden and son, Don (Janet) Blonquist all of Coalville; 13 grandchildren, Julie, Kurt, Denise, Raquel, Jennifer, Nancy, Gary, Jed, Amy, Aaron, Andrew, Angie, Anna, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister, Dolly (Ray) Simister, Coalville; and two sisters-in-law, Maxine Clark, Draper, Utah and Bessie Clark, Green River, WY; several nieces and nephews and several extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard; son, Joseph; two grandchildren, Matthew and Tina; brothers, Sammy, John (Bunny), Jim and Doug; and one sister, Jane.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 13, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Coalville Stake Center. A viewing will be held Thursday, July 12th, from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Coalville.
