KITTY HAWK - Mrs. Aleta Baum Corbell, 78, of Carrenda Lane, died March 18 [1988] in an Elizabeth City nursing home.
A native of Kitty Hawk, she was the daughter of the late Elsworth and Delia Owens Baum and the wife of Theron Sanford Corbell of the home. She was a member of the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Besides her husband, surviving are four daughters: Ada C. Scarborough of Duck, Lois C. Hatchell of Manteo, Joan K. Corbell of Latta, S.C., and Jane C. Scott of Kitty Hawk; one son, Sanford P. Corbell of Kitty Hawk; one brother, Isaac Baum of Elizabeth City; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Church services were held Sunday in the Kitty Hawk United Methodist Church by Rev. A.D. Byrd with burial following in the Austin Cemetery, Kitty Hawk. Twiford Colony Chapel, Manteo, handled arrangements.
