Jacob Ellet Ball, 73, a resident of Hasty Road, Rt. 6, Thomasville died at his home Tuesday morning, following an extended illness. He was born in Randolph County, March 14, 1896, a son of George W. and Martha Ball. He was married to Lalah Kennedy, who died in 1941. He married Ina Welborn in 1947. He was employed for many years by Globe Furniture Company and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He was an Army veteran of World War 1.

Surviving are the wife of the home; four sons, two daughters, one stepson, one stepdaughter, one brother, 9 grandchildren and 9 step-grandchildren.

Funeral will be conducted in Spring Hill United Methodist Church Thursday afternoon at 2:30 by Rev. Avery Fergurson and Rev. R.J. Starling. Burial will follow in the family plot in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church cemetery.
