THOMASVILLE--Melvin C. Ball, 64, of Hasty School Rd., died on Thursday at High Point Regional Hospital. He was born in Davidson County, August 7, 1924, a son of Jacob E. and Lala Kennedy Ball. He was employed by Garrett Mirror Support in High Point for 28 years, retiring as supervisor. He was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and the church Sunday school. On September 20, 1946, he married Ruby Carter, who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Ms. Vicki Cranford of Rt.1, Sophia, and Mrs. Randy (Kathy) Way of Rt.2, High Point; one son, Melvin Ricky Ball of Hasty School Road; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia McLester of High Point and Mrs. Jesse (Vernell) Lanier of Denton; three brothers, Marvin Ball of Lexington, Leon Ball of Thomasville and Leonard Ball of High Point; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Auten and the Rev. J. Winfred Crouse. Burial will be in church cemetery.
