Prior to her marriage she had worked as a nurse at the Jamestown Sanitorium with Tuberculosis patients. She was a longtime member of the Davidson County Home Extension Club and enjoyed making and teaching basket weaving and was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Franklin Lanier, son, Douglas Franklin Lanier; brothers, Leonard, Marvin, Melvin, and Leon Ball; sister, Virginia McLester.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Claudie Harrison and Rev. Thomas Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
