Ralph D. Gladfelter
GLEN ROCK – Ralph D. Gladfelter, 83, of Glen Rock RD 3, a former Codorus Township supervisor, died Wednesday at York Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Gertrude (Sterner) Gladfelter.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday from Greenmount United Methodist Church, near Neimans, with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Viewing will be tonight from 7 to 9 at the Geiple Funeral Home, 53 Main St., and on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
Born in Codorus Township, son of the late Charles and Rosetta (Bortner) Glatfelter, he had served 16 years on the Codorus Township Board of Supervisors.
A lifetime resident of the Glen Rock area, he was engaged in farming, and was a member of Greenmount United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: Four children, Roy D. Gladfelter, Glen Rock RD 3; Sterling K. Gladfelter, York; Philip L. Gladfelter, Brodbecks RD 1; Phyllis Greenplate, Glen Rock RD 1; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, seven step-great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandchild, and two brothers, Fred Glatfelter, Glen Rock RD 2, and Charles Gladfelter, Red Lion.
Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. C. Richard Beach.
