JOHN E. RADFORD DIES AT HOME

John Edward Radford, 71, longtime resident of the area, died in his home at 194 Whitter St. following a lingering illness.

Mr. Radford was born January 3, 1883, in Lemington, Utah, the son of Daniel and Everal Morgan Radford.

He came to Idaho as a youth and farmed in this area.

On April 6, 1905 he was married to Eva Teeples in Blackfoot. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

A former bishop of the La Belle Ward. Mr. Radford also served as watermaster of the Lowder and Jennings Sloughs in that community.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by the following sons and daughters: Loren and Blain, of La Belle; Dellas of Rigby and Mrs. Lynn (Verda) Richards and Mrs. Dean (Theola) McCafferty, of Idaho Falls; and a grandchild, LaVerl Noreen, son of a deceased daughter, raised by Mr. and Mrs. Radford.

There are also 25 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, George of Ririe and two sisters, Mrs. Maud Ross and Mrs. Bill (Ethel) Smith of Blackfoot.

Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. in the Idaho Falls Fourth Ward with Bishop Farrel C. Metcalf officiating. Friends may call at the family home on Monday until time of services and prior to that at the Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby. Interment will be in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery.

FUNERAL JOHN E. RADFORD

Funeral services for John E. Radford, 74, who died January 17, were conducted by Bishop Farrel C. Metcalf in the 7th LDS Ward Chapel Monday afternoon.

Family prayer was offered by Blaine Hansen, invocation by Glen Radford and benediction by Bishop Darrel Womack. Speakers were Jesse Radford, Patriarch H. T. Moss and Bishop Vernon Olsen.

Music included meditations by Vonda Brunt; solo by John H. Love Jr; duet by Fern and Zola Teeples; solo by William Severson and solo by D. Ray Crystal.

Pallbearers were Cleo Ross, Wayne, Don and Therle Radford, Melvin Hansen and Bud Womack. Honorary pallbearers were the 10th Ward High Priests. Dedicatory prayer was offered by Bishop Kenneth Simmons and interment was in the Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home of Rigby.
