Funeral services for A. L. Bryant, 84, of Magee were held Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 2 p.m. from Colonial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Norman Bagby and Rev. Dan West officiating. Interment was in the Pine Grove Cemetery with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Bryant died Monday, Sept. 10, at Simpson General Hospital. He was a Smith County native and had operated a store in Leake County for about 40 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Effie S. Bryant of Magee; three sons, Lee and Albert Bryant, both of Magee, and Wilson Bryant of Fort Worth, Texas; three daughters, Mrs. G. A. Kesseler of Santa Rose, Calif., Mrs. R. G. Shoemake of Shreveport, La., and Mrs. Lillie Chapman of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
