She was born March 12, 1922 at Thayne, Wyoming to George
Gee McGavin and Hazel Jeanette Tanner McGavin. The family moved to Idaho
Falls where she attended schools. Prior to her marriage, she worked at
S. H. Kress Company
On January 6, 1941, she married Marvin D. Shurtliff in
the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She was a mother and homemaker.
As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, she served in all church organizations and auxiliaries.
She enjoyed swimming, camping, reading, writing and dancing. Wanda loved
to work and help others; her greatest joy was her family.

Sister: Verla Randall, Grant, ID
18 Grandchildren 24 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilford and Glen McGavin and
a grandson, Peter Shane Shurtliff.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Monday, December
6, 2004, at the Idaho Falls LDS 20th Ward (651 Gladstone), with Bishop
Lance Toone officiating.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 7 to
8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and Monday for one hour
prior to the services at the church.
Burial will be in Ririe-Shelton Cemetery under the direction
of Wood Funeral Home.
