John Ticino, 94, of Meriden -, husband of the late Helen (Gwara) Ticino, died On Monday, May 23, 2005 peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Girgienti, Sicily, on March 19, 1911, the son of the late Carmelo and Carmela Ticino. He had resided in his life long residence of Meriden and he graduated from H.C.Wilcox Regional Vocational School. Mr Ticino was employed by Hyatt Bearing Division of New Departure for 39 years retiring in 1965. Throughout the area, he was known as "The clockman" Mr Ticino was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt Carmel, and belonged to several clock associations.

He is survived by a daughter, Gloria Zuber of Meriden: four sons and daughters-in law, Carmelo and Claire Ticino, Salvatore and Margaret Ticino, John Ticino and Richard and Brenda Ticino, all of Meriden: 17 grandchildren: 25 Great-grandchildren: two sisters, Mary Vincenzo of Florida and Vera Hineline of Meriden, and many nephews and nieces. He is pre-deceased by two sisters, Frances and Anna: and One Brother Joseph

The funeral will be held on Thursday, May 26 at 8:45 a.m., from the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, and at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian burial. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contribution may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. 96 Oak St, Hartford, CT 06106
