Having actually gone "Missing" on the above date, he was not officially declared by the military as being dead until January 7, 1946.

Randall served as a First Lieutenant on B-17F #41-24546, 403rd Bomber Squadron, 43rd Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Grayson County, Texas prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 10, 1941, prior to the war, in Dallas, Texas. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Industry Clerk and also as Single, without dependents.

Randall was declared "Missing In Action" when his B-17 failed to return from a mission to shadow a Japanese convoy of four destroyers in the Vitiaz Strait which is between New Guinea & New Britain during the war.

He was awarded the Purple Heart.
