TWO KILLED ON IDAHO RANCH
CAUSE OF MURDER, SUICIDE OF YOUNG MEN STILL MYSTERY

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, December 21--(AP) Two young men are dead as a result of a shooting affray on the M. E. Brown ranch near here.

Officers attributed the deaths to murder and suicide.

CAUSE MYSTERY
Officers who investigated the tragedy reported Orval Brown, 20, shot and killed his brother-in-law Karrel Radford, 21, and then committed suicide with the same rifle. The cause of the shooting remained a mystery, although Brown was described by police as "mentally unbalanced."

Mrs. Radford, a bride of only a few weeks and sister of young Brown said her brother came home for supper late yesterday and finding Radford had already eaten, became angry and left the house. He headed for the barn, where Radford was working and a few minutes later Mrs. Radford heard several shots.

Radford, although mortally wounded staggered to the house and was brought to a hospital here, where he died shortly after admittance. He suffered three wounds near the heart.

BODY LOCATED
Officers hurried to the ranch, but were unable to locate young Brown. A prolonged search finally resulted in the finding of his body in a granary. Coroner Fred Porter said he had been shot through the heart with the same rifle with which Radford was killed. Young Brown's wrists hed also been cut, Coroner Porter reported.

He pronounced the case murder and suicide.

Surviving Radford are his bride and father, Ed Radford. Brown's survivors include his father, three brothers and a sister.
