She was born Elva Geneva Brown Hicks, Oct. 30, 1919, at Milo, daughter of Ernest M. Brown and Clara E. Morris Brown. She was a member of the LDS Church, taught primary and played the accordion for old folks' dances.
She was married June 16, 1937, at Idaho Falls, to H. Lee Hicks of Garfield.

Joint funeral services for Mrs. Hicks and her 7-year-old son, Walter Kay Hicks, will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Eckersell Memorial Chapel by Bishop E. Clyde Terry of the Garfield LDS Ward.
Friends may call Thursday 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grant Central Cemetery.
