Harley Jay Fuchs died Aug. 5, 1978 in St. Mary Corwin Hospital in Pueblo. He was born March 26, 1904 in Del Norte, Colorado to George Henry Fuchs and Anna Jane Jones Fuchs. He had been a resident of Del Norte his entire life. He was a farmer, a member of the Assembly of God Church and had worked for twelve years for the U.S. Forest Service.
Funeral services were held Aug. 8 at the Assembly of God Church in Del Norte with Rev. Aaron Parker officiating. Burial was in the Del Norte cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie Fuchs, Del Norte; two sons, Wilber D. Fuchs of Pueblo, and George H. Fuchs, of Del Norte. Also surviving is a daughter, Betty Jane Fields, Fort Worth, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
