Services were held at the Methodist church Saturday for Edwin W. Fuchs, who died in Denver earlier this week. He was born at the Bear Creek Ranch at South Fork, February 28, 1909, the son of George and Annie Jones Fuchs. The family moved to the Granger district and Edwin started school at the old Granger one-room county school. After completing his education in the Del Norte schools, he spent several years working in Arizona and California. During World War II he spent several years on the Alcan Highway.
In 1944 he returned to Colorado and he and Rachel Martinez were married at Durango. For two years he worked in the timber industry at South Fork and at Creede, and then entered farming and stock raising. He became ill last summer and disposed of his ranch and purebred Angus herd.
He is survived by his widow, father; brothers, Harley and Leland; and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Hughie Wilson, John Marlott, Ross Davie, Bob Robran, Ed Burton and Vernon Mann.
