CLARENCE KEITHLEY
---Clarence Keithley, 74, of La Plata, died in a Kirksville hospital Sunday morning at 11:00. He had been in failing health for several years and hospitalized for two weeks.
---The son of Nova E. and Ella (Welch) Keithley, he was born July 21, 1890 at Browning.
---On November 1, 1911, he married Bertha Frances Tucker and to this marriage two sons were born.
---He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one half sister.
---During the early part of his life, Mr. Keithley farmed in the Elmer-Gifford community. He was also a carpenter until about 10 years ago when he was employed by the Christie Funeral home and Furniture Store in La Plata.
---He was a member of the South Gifford Christian Church and was also a member of the La Plata Lodge AF & AM. He was a past master of Elmer Lodge AF & AM.
---Masonic services were held Monday evening at the McCollum Funeral Home in South Gifford.
---Funeral services were held at 2:00 Tuesday afternoon in the Community Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clyde McCollum officiating. Burial was in the La Plata Cemetery.
---The body was taken to the church at 12:00 Tuesday. The casket was closed at the funeral hour and was not reopened.
---Bearers were Johnnie Keithley, Bobbie Keithley, Bill Keithley, Dennis Keithley, David Keithley and Richard Carder.
