Paul Keithley
W. Paul Keithley, 83, of Columbia died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at Boone Hospital Center.
---Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at First Christian Church with John Yonker officiating. Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at Memorial Funeral Home.
---Mr. Keithley was born Sept. 12, 1915, in La Plata to Clarence and Bertha Tucker Keithley.
---He married Wanda Mae McCollum on June 15, 1940, in South Gifford, and she survives.
---He graduated from La Plata High School and Chillicothe Business College. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as a chief warrant officer. He worked for BS & S Steel Co. in Kansas City and later for Shelter Insurance from 1946-78, retiring as secretary/treasurer and secretary to the board of directors.
---He was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as Sunday school teacher, chairman of the board and treasurer. He also was a board member of Lenoir home and the Missouri School of Religion.
---Survivors include three sons, John Keithley of St. Louis and Bill Keithley and David Keithley, both of Columbia; a daughter, Sue Fink of Columbia; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
---Memorials can be made to First Christian Church, Tenth and Walnut streets, Columbia, Mo., 65201.
Willis Paul Keithley married Wanda Mae McCollum, daughter of William Henry and Aultie Westfall McCollum, on June 15, 1940 in South Gifford, Macon County, Missouri and they had four children: John Paul, William Clarence "Bill", Alice Sue and David Lee Keithley.
NOTE: Paul's marriage license (see attached photo) and family records give his full name as Willis Paul Keithley but everyone who knew him called him Paul.
