NOVA E. KEITHLEY
---The chill of death threw its mantle over our village March 7, 1932 and claimed as its victim, our father and benefactor, Nova E. Keithley. Our friend.
---Mr. Keithley was born in Sullivan County, Missouri, May 12, 1868 and died on the above date mentioned, thus being sixty-three years, nine months and twenty-four days old.
---Mr. Keithley was at the home of his son, Clarence, at the time of his death, although prior to that he had been making his home with his son, Tilman, near Elmer, Missouri.
---On November 15, 1889 he was married to Ella Welch to which union six children were born, three having preceded him in death several years before. Those remaining of this union are Clarence of Gifford, Tilman of near Plainview and Walden of Galesburg, Illinois.
---Death again came into the family circle and claimed the mother of his flock, thus leaving him December 2, 1902 to trod life's pathway alone.
---Later in life he was married to Ella Crist of near Winigan, Missouri on November 15, 1905, and to this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Violet Lagle of Greenly, Kansas and Mrs. Hazel Pierce of Gipson City, Illinois.
---One brother of the deceased survives him, Mr. Charles Keithley of Liberty, Missouri.
---The vicinity in which he has spent the later end of his life recalls the many acts of kindness and benevolence on behalf of those less fortunate. Also those whose bodies have been burdened with pain and anxiety recall the words of sympathy and courage to press on, and in his death we shall never forget this noble and manly trait.
---The body was laid to rest in a nearby cemetery by the side of his dear ones who have before gone to their rest, Indian Hill cemetery.
---The funeral was conducted by Elder Turner of Gifford who stressed the importance of us to recognize the brotherhood of man and the Fatherhood of God, and thus to help make the pathway more bright and cheerful as we journey through this life.
---We would also make mention of the effective way that the choir and pianist conducted the singing and music which always is a strong factor in the services.
