Biography

Susanna was born on June 28, 1772 and baptized on July 12, 1772 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Hill, Montgomery County, PA. The parents were Peter and Catharina Strein and the sponsors were Johan Adam & Susanna Strein. Johan Adam is thought to be the brother of Peter. Susanna married Jacob Fink about 1800. They were the parents of only one child, Anna Maria, who was born on July 28, 1801 and baptized on October 2, 1802 at Christ Lutheran Church in York, PA. The sponsor of the baptism was Margaret Strein, stepmother (?) of Susanna.

Charles & Catharine Strein also baptisized their daughter Sarah at Christ Lutheran Church on this same date and the sponsor was also Margaret Strein. Charles is the step brother of Susanna Strein. (See baptism records # 4208 and # 4209, page 221, Christ Lutheran Church, York, PA located at the York County Historical Society, York, PA)

According to an article from "Die Heilige Schrift", published by Kimber Scharp, Philadelphia, PA (1828) in the Strein family history file at the York County Historical Society, Jacob and Susanna were the parents of only one child, which died in January 1804.

Peter Strine, of Conewago Township, gives John Ginter of Portroyal, Londonderry Township, Dauphin County, power of attorney to collect the inheritance due from the estate of his sister Susanna, wife of Jacob Fink on March 26, 1839. Jacob & Susanna left no children. Jacob willed half of the estate to his brothers and sisters, the other half to his wife's brothers and sisters. Deed recorded on April 1, 1839.

Jacob Finck and Susanna, his wife, of Manchester Township, York County sold lots 25, 26 and 29 in the town of New Holland, Manchester Township to Charles Strine of the Borough of York, York County for $250 on March 11, 1815. Deed not recorded until June 19, 1903.

Susanna died after March 11, 1815, but before her husband who died about September 21, 1838. She may have died in Manchester Township, York County, PA.
