Herman was a farmer of long standing in Billings, Oklahoma raising prized Hereford cattle. In 1926 he auctioned the farm, known by locals as the old Minehan home. Mr. Glahn took his own life at the age of 50, he had been suffering from blood poisoning in his left arm for two months and had grown despondent this coupled with continued brooding over the death of his son John who drown several years before. (The Enid Morning News, 14 Apr 1926, Wed · Page 8)
