Clarence Courier, Clarence, Shelby, Missouri, Wednesday, June 8, 1921, page 1. Golden Wedding.
(From the Enid, Oklahoma paper regarding former Clarence citizens).

In this month of brides, it was particular beauty and solemnity that John W. Glahn and his wife, Mary, celebrated their wedding of fifty years ago at their home; 905 West Elm, Wednesday. A big surprise dinner was planned and amid smiles and tears the bridal people were seated at the big table at which 51 relatives sat. The wedding cake was cut by Father T.P. McNulty of the St. Francis Xavier's church who in a few well chosen words extended to the happy couple heartiest congratulations, to which Mr. Glahn responded. Mr. and Mrs. Glahn have five children, all of whom were present: Joseph Glahn, of Enid, Herman Glahn, of Billings, John C. Glahn, of Jefferson, Mrs. Maggie Kritenbrink of Jefferson, and Mrs. Mary Pryor of Wichita. Also the 26 grandchildren and one great grandchild, Hugh P. Haugherty, Jr., of Enid.

John W. Glahn and Mary Geers were married in Quincy, Illinois, June 1, 1871, moving on a farm near Clarence, Shelby county, Missouri. In 1893 the race into this Cherokee Strip was made and a homestead staked near Jefferson, on which they resided until January 3, 1921 when they moved to Enid. Mr. Glahn is 72 and Mrs. Glahn is 71 years "young."
