Mr. Anderson was born July 22, 1854, in Orum, Denmark, a son of Jens C. and Anna K. Anderson Christensen, although he later took the name Anderson. As a young man he served for four years in the king's army. At the age of 24 he married Anna Kristine Pederson. He and his wife were both converts of the LDS Church and in 1882 came with their two children to Utah, settling at Manti. The family moved to Elsinore in 1890, and in that year Mr. Anderson's wife died, leaving him with seven children. He later married Anna Margaretta Rasmussen, who died 12 years after their marriage. He married Mary Butler Nelson on March 4, 1915, and to them four children were born. Surviving Mr. Anderson are his widow and the following sons and daughters: Charles P. Anderson of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Rose Merg of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel Anderson, Caliente, Nevada, Mrs. Maurine Muir, Beaver, Ut., Mrs. Oro Mossman, Edward and Grand B. Anderson of Elsinore, one step daughter Mrs. Pearl Roberts, 22 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren. Mr. Anderson remained a faithful member of the LDS Church. A Brick Layer and Mason by trade, he helped with the construction of the Manti LDS Temple.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Elsinore Ward chapel for ANDREW CHRISTIAN ANDERSON, 83, who died Sunday at this home in Elsinore, after having been ill two weeks.

Albert O. Engar of the ward bishopric conducted the services. Speakers were Bishop Leon T. Madsen, H.J. Kotter and W.W. Sylvester. The Relief Society chorus, with Mrs. LillianJensen at the piano, sang, "Oh My Father" and "I Know That My Redeemer Lives". Mrs. W.W. Sylvester sang "A Perfect Day." The opening prayer was by Alma Johnson of Provo, an uncle of Mrs. Anderson, and the benediction was by O.A. Engar. Charles Anderson of Salt Lake, a son of Mr. Anderson, dedicated the grave, Interment being in the Elsinore Cemetery.

He also ran the first school wagon from Brooklyn to Elsinore.
