Levi Grubaugh, 62, janitor at the court house for the past three years, died suddenly Tuesday, July 24, 1945 at Kirby Hospital. He had submitted to an appendectomy operation and was recovering satisfactorily and his death was unexpected. Funeral services were held today, July 26, at DeLand Christian Church with burial in DeLand cemetery.

Mr. Grubaugh was born August 25, 1882 at St Elmo, s/o Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Cameron Grubaugh. He married Sarah Barr (1888-1965) on February 9, 1909 at Beecher City. They moved to Monticello three years ago from DeLand where they had resided for 17 years. Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters: Vera of Monticello; and Mrs. Irene Anderson, Galesville. One son preceded him in death. He also leaves two sisters: Mrs. J C. Barr, Mahomet; Mrs. Nora Watson, St Elmo; three brothers: Charles and Sam, both of Vandalia and Homer of Oakley and five grandchildren.
