Anne May (Blatter) Bruner of Long Beach, Calif., passed one year ago on March 9, 2018. Though the intentions were to post a notice in the Blair newspaper, it was not left without thought.

Anne was a free spirit, who had her well-remembered roots in Blair, and her heart with her husband and family in Long Beach.

Anne was a highly intelligent, and fun-loving person. Daughter of Anna May (Monke) Blatter and well-known pharmacist, J.W. "Bill" Blatter, World War I veteran of Blair. Anne served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II, in Florida and Washington, D.C. She was honorably discharged just prior to the end of the war in 1945.

Anne is survived by her children, Stephanie (Bruce) Winter, Jeff (Liane Davis) Bruner and Todd (Susan) Bruner. She is also survived by her sister, Alice (Blatter) Dick, of Fremont; her grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Bruner; her parents; siblings, Ted, Pauline (Lallman), Bill, Helen (Pat), Ruth (Barta), John and Dorothy (Albus).
