William A. Blatter, 77

William A. “Bill” Blatter, 77, of Wheatridge, CO, died July 14, 2003.

Memorial services will be 2 pm at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 11500 W. 20th Ave, Lakewood, CO.

William Albin Blatter was born October 11, 1925 in Blair to JW and May (Monke) Blatter. He served as an ensign in the Navy during World War II and was released from the Navy Reserve as a lieutenant J.G. in 1955.

He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in pharmacy, and worked for Eli Lilly Pharmaceutical Company for 35 years, including seven years in the international division in Columbia, South America and Guatemala, Central America. Mr. Blatter also was a volunteer for Exempla Lutheran Medical Center for 16 years following his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette (Swanson) Blatter; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Fred Trimm of Colorado; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Carl and Gretchen Blatter of California, and sons, Steven William and William Alan Blatter of Colorado; four grandchildren; brother, Ted Blatter of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Pauline “Polly” Lallman of Fontanelle, Ann Brunner of Long Beach, California, Helen “Pat” Barta of Elkhorn, Alie Dick of Fremont and Dorothy “Toots” Albus of Blair.

He was preceded in death by a brother John P. Blatter.

Memorials are suggested to ELMC Volunteers, c/o LMC Community Foundation, 6870 W. 52nd Ave, No 103, Arvada, CO 80002, or Shepherd of the Hills Church in Lakewood.
