POLLY LALLMAN, 86

Polly Lallman, 86, of Fontanelle, died Nov. 17, 2009, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Her remains have been cremated and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Polly Blatter was born Sept. 5, 1923, in Fremont to William and May (Monke) Blatter. She grew up in Blair and graduated from Blair High School in 1940.

She attended Dana, Wayne State and Midland Lutheran colleges.

On Dec. 18, 1946, she married Curtis Lallman. The couple farmed south of Nickerson until moving to Fontanelle in 1950. Mrs. Lallman taught school for more than 20 years at several country schools, in Sioux City, Fremont, Hooper and Arlington. In later years, she was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Smiles Club.

She is survived by a son, C. Mark Lallman of Raleigh, N.C., and a daughter and son-in-law, Kim Lallman-Holtz and Craig Holtz of rural Beemer; and three sisters, Anne, Alice and Dorothy.

She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis, in 1995; three brothers, Ted, Bill and John; and a sister, Patsy.
