Rites for Mrs. J.W. Blatter Are Today
Had Been Active in Many Organizations, Mother of Eight

Mrs. J.W. Blatter who died of a heart attack suddenly last Sunday afternoon was May Monke before her marriage. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Monke and Mrs. Monke. She was born May 8th 1900 at Fontanelle.

She attended Midland College and the University of Nebraska. On July 12, 1921 she was united in marriage to J.W. (Bill) Blatter, a well-known Blair Pharmacist. They lived in Fremont until 1925 when they moved to Blair to make their home.

Mrs. Blatter was the active Noble Grand of the Rebekah Lodge and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Blair, the V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries and the War Mothers.

Survivors are her husband, five daughters; Mrs. Byron Brunner (Annie) of Los Angeles, Mrs. Curtis Lallman (Pauline), Nickerson, Mrs. Roy Barta (Helen) Dakota city, Mrs. Dale Albus (Dorothy) of Blair, Mrs. John Dick (Alice) of Fremont and three sons; John of Blair, Ted of Anaheim, California, and Wm. A. of Ft. Dodge, Iowa. Also her mother, Mrs. H. F. Monke, a brother Luther of Nickerson and eight grandchildren.

All are present (today) Thursday for the funeral services which are at 2:00 P.M. at the First Lutheran Church. The Bendorf Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and burial will be in Blair Cemetery.
