Martha was named after her paternal grandmother, Martha Parker Wilcox. She visited her grandmother in Cedar Fort, Utah often, and she met a handsome young man from the town and later married him. Henry and Martha had 11 children, with 3 of them dying as children. They lived around Cedar Fort for a while (6 children born there, 2 died), moved to Magrath, Alberta, Canada (3 children born there, 1 died), and then to Archer, Idaho where the last 2 children were born and they finished raising their children, and some of their grandchildren there. After her sweetheart died, Martha spent time with her children and sister. Because of health problems, her children built a small little house next to the home of her only daughter, Florence, who lived in Firth, Idaho. Her grandchildren have fond memories of listening to her stories and sharing her sweet nature.
Martha was a creative and nurturing woman that left a legacy of love to her family. She wrote many of the stories of family members and worked hard at gathering family records to build our family history.
