One of seven children born to James Rafer & Mary Jane (Mavity) Warfield of Manilla, Rush Co IN, Haley married John C Kuntz on 18 Aug 1891 in Rush Co IN, son of Frederick & Elizabeth (Weber) Kuntz of Dresbach, Germany and late of Manilla, Rush Co IN.

Haley & John had five children, two sons and three daughters.

My Grandpa Verle Warfield (1895-1988) talked about visiting his Aunt Haley. She lived "way out in the countryside" when he was young.

"Mahala Muntz Of Manilla Dies
Mrs. Mahala Kuntz, 91, of Manilla died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday in the Conover Nursing Home at Morristown where she had been living for two weeks.
A resident of the Manilla community most of her life, she was born in Walker Township on December 17, 1872, the daughter of James R. and Mary Mavity Warfield. On August 18, 1891, she was married to John C. Kuntz, who died October 12, 1948.
Mrs. Kuntz was a member of the Manilla Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Darley (Alice) Wendling, R. R. 1, Manilla, and Mrs. Earl (Sarah) Theobald, R. R. 6, Shelbyville; a son, Fred Kuntz, R. R. 6, Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A son, Earl Kuntz, died August 1 and a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Jonas, and four brothers and sisters also preceded her in death.
The Rev. Kenneth Lucas will conduct services at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Carmony Funeral Home in Manilla, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Saturday, with burial in the Manilla Cemetery."
