Annie L. Barker, 89, Slate Branch community, Somerset, died Tuesday, December 9, 1997, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home, following a long illness. She was 89.

Born February 27, 1908, she was a daughter of the late William and Rohanna Frogge Crouch. She was a homemaker and member of Slate Branch Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John Bill (and Regina) Barker, Nancy, and Terry (and Jean) Barker, Eubank; three daughters, Frances (and Earl) Tarter and Emma Jean (and Bob) Mayfield, both of Boswell, Indiana, and Maxine (and James) Stevens, Somerset; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Barker; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie B. Barker, whom she married July 31, 1924, in Pulaski County; her parents; two sons, Jerry and Leonard Barker; three brothers, Johnnie, Millard and Arvie Crouch; a sister, Minnie York; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with the Revs. Esau Huff and Gilbert Robinson officiating.

Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
