Eliza E Osborn was the daughter of Robert Clark and Eliza S Elsom Wingfield and was the tenth of their twelve children. On the 1850 census Eliza was identified as Sarah M. so her parents presumably had a change of heart as to what to name her.

Elmore Osborn and Eliza Wingfield were married October 4, 1866 in Upshur County, West Virginia. They were the parents of nine children: Sarah Jane (Tenney), Van Buren, Susan, Chesley, Melvina, Emma M, Ellet Wilson, Rettie and one unknown. Elmer was a farmer.
