Francis S. Bowser passed away at his home, one and one-half miles above Bettendorf, on the Nutting farm, this morning at 9 o'clock, after a short illness.
Mr. Bowser was born Nov. 10, 1844, in Worthington, Pa., and at the time of his death was aged 77 years, 6 months and 15 days. He was educated in Slatelick, Pa., both in public and private schools. He was married in Pittsburgh, Pa., Sept. 6, 1870, to Miss Anna J. Davison. He came to Iowa and direct to Muscatine in 1889. After residing there for some time he came to Buffalo, where he was a resident and postmaster for many years. Mr. Bowser was a member of the Presbyterian church.
He is survived by his wife and seven children, Mrs. A.K. Claypool of Davenport, Dr. W.T. Bowser of Elborn, Ia., Mrs. H.B. Moorhead of Blue Grass, Ia., Robert R. of Bettendorf, Orlando, Herbert and Albert, at home.
A private funeral will be held at the home near Bettendorf Saturday morning at 10 o'clock. Public services will be held in the Presbyterian church in Blue Grass Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, where friends will be welcome. Interment will be made in the Blue Grass cemetery.
