Herbert N. Bowser, 77, a Scott County resident, of Buffalo, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in University hospital, Iowa city, following an illness of two months. Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Hill & Fredericks chapel, and burial will be in Blue Grass cemetery.

Born May 25, 1876 in Rural Valley, Pa., he was the son of Frank and Anna Davidson Bowser. He first moved to Muscatine, where he received his education, and had been a resident of Buffalo the past ten years. He was of Presbyterian faith.

Surviving is a sister, Mrs. H.B. Moorhead, Davenport; two brothers, Robert Bowser, Detroit, Mich., and Orlando L. Bowser, Ann Harbor, Mich.

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 24, at Hill & Fredericks Chapel in Iowa City. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery, Blue Grass, Iowa.

Herbert Newton Bowser was born May 25, 1876, in Rural Valley, Pennsylvania, the son of Francis and Anna (Davidson) Bowser. The family moved to Muscatine, Iowa, where he received his education. He later made Buffalo his home for the past ten years. He never married. He was of Presbyterian faith.

Surviving are one sister, Anna (Harry) Moorhead of Davenport; two brothers, Robert (Dorothea) Bowser of Detroit, MI, and Orlando Bowser of Ann Harbor, MI.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mona Claypool and two brothers, William and Albert Bowser.
