Mrs. Anna Jane Bowser, former Davenport resident, died in her home at Buffalo, Tuesday, at 4:55 p.m. following a lingering illness. She was 93 years old.
The body was brought to the Hill & Fredericks mortuary, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, with burial in Blue Grass cemetery.
Mrs. Bowser was born at Hollidaysburg, Pa., April 11, 1849. She received her education in schools there, and was married to Frank S. Bowser in Pittsburgh, Sept. 6, 1870. The couple came to Muscatine with their family in 1889, moving to Davenport in 1914. Mr. Bowser died in 1916, and Mrs. Bowser remained in Davenport until seven years ago, when she moved to Buffa.o.
The decedent was a member of the First Presbyterian church in Davenport, and had been active in church work until recent years. She was also a member of the G.A.R.
The survivors include five sons, Dr. W.F. Bowser, Davenport, Herbert, Orlando and Albert, all at home, and Robert, Detroit, Mich.; and one daughter, Mrs. Harry B. Moorhead, Davenport. A daughter, Mrs. Mona Claypool preceded her in death.
