Lula was born October 26, 1905 the third of ten children of Warren Chasteen "Teen" and Lola Vallie [nee Stephens] Hendricks. The Hendricks family lived on their farm along the Little River in the Mershon Bridge Community of Trigg Co., Ky. In 1923 Lula married Garland "Lacy" Peal, son of Euphrates "Frate" and Eva Lena Cunningham Peal. They made their home on their farm in the Peal's Chapel Community near the mouth of the Little River. They had one daughter, Sylvia Dell born May 6, 1924. Sylvia Dell married Jay Lyons, son of Joseph and Garvie Ellen Calhoun Lyons. They had one daughter, Betty Lou. Lula's life was devoted to her family; always putting their needs and well being before her own. Lula and Lacy were a farm family, with Lula taking care of the family home and garden while Lacy tended to the livestock and crops. Lula was an excellent cook, preparing noonday meals for the farm hands. She was well noted for her pies and cakes. One never went hungry in the Peal household. Much love and time went into the many hand stitched quilts that Lula and her sisters made for family and friends. The Hendricks family always looked forward going to the Peal's Homeplace for Thanksgiving. Great food, fun and fellowship was always had by all. Lula was a member of Liberty Point Baptist Church.

Lula died December 12, 1974 and was buried in the Little River Cemetery.
