A native of Trigg County, Vallie was born November 20, 1883 the daughter of William Lowry and Nannie Milton Mitchell Stephens. In September, 1900 she was united in marriage to Warren Chasteen 'Teen' Hendricks. They made their home on their farm in the Mershon Bridge community northwest of Cadiz. To this union were born 10 children, two having died in infancy.

She was a lifelong member of Liberty Point Baptist Church- a loyal and faithful member until the end.

Death came to Vallie on September 2, 1946 at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville, Ky. Funeral services were held at the home with the Rev. Raymond Baker officiating. Burial was in the family cemetery later relocated to the Little River Cemetery in Trigg Co., Ky.
