A resident of New Roads, Ethel Monceret Chenevert died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Pointe Coupee General Hospital. She was 92, born Feb. 13, 1918, in New Roads. She spent her last 6 1/2 years at Lakewood Quarters and Pointe Coupee Health Care. She formerly worked at Catholic of Pointe Coupee School.

She is survived by a daughter, Yvonne and her husband, Joseph Olinde; a son John Larry Chenevert and his wife, Lee Chenevert; and a daughter-in-law, Toni Chenevert. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Brian and wife Fran Olinde, Darren and wife Laura Olinde, and Lisa, Sammy and Kimberly Chenevert; three great-grandchildren, Morgan and Cooper Olinde, and Tory Chenevert; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Monceret and Rita Monceret; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Chenevert; daughter, Patricia Ann Chenevert; son, Clinton J. "C.J." Chenevert; parents, Felicien and Marie Monceret; in-laws, Joseph and Julia Chenevert; brothers, Leroy and Nolan Monceret; and sisters, Dot Rock and Gertrude Monceret.

Visitation will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Roads until Mass of Christian Burial, celebrated by the Rev. Bob Stine. Entombment to follow in False River Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Brian and Darren Olinde, Ralph Rock, Alton Brown, and Sammy and Tim Chenevert.
