Dorothy “Dot” Rock, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at the age of 77. Her passion in life was her love for her family and friends. She had a special gift for making so many people feel like one of her own. She will be missed dearly. She was a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of New Roads. Visiting at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by her loving children, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Marie Rock-Adcock and Chuck Adcock, Becky and Troy Kendrick and Debby Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph and Vonda Rock; grandchildren, Brandi and husband Bobby Holt, Donny Nelson, Shelley and husband Jayson Cryer, Erica Blythe, Tyler, Brennan and Kristen Rock, Elliot Adcock and Bart; two great-grandchildren, Emily Cryer and Blaine Nelson; sister, Ethel Chenevert; two sisters-in-law, Audrey Monceret and Rita Monceret and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale “P.B.” Rock; parents, Felician and Marie Monceret; two brothers, Leroy Monceret and Nolan Monceret; and sister, Gertrude Monceret. Pallbearers will be Michael Rock, Nickie DiBenedetto, C.J. Chenevert, Jerry Dale Cryer, Mike Delaune and Brian Olinde. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.
