Known as Peggy or Peg, she became an RN at Fort Lee, Virginia during WW II. After getting married in Spartanburg, SC, she lived in Atlanta with her husband and together they raised two sons. She was a friend to her son’s friends and to her neighbors. Her siblings and their families were special to her and though she didn’t live near them, she let them know she loved them.
Peg was active in the PTA while her sons were in school and also active in Economic Opportunity Atlanta, helping those in the African American community and children who were less fortunate. She loved people and dogs. At one time, she had sixteen of them and an urban kennel license.
Survivors include her sons, Vernon Brady (Debra) of Orlando, FL and Richard Brady (Susan) of Kennesaw, GA; two granddaughters, Emily Ann and Morgan; sister, Bennie Strickland of Hillsville; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Bluemont Presbyterian Church at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will follow in the Bluemont Cemetery. Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel is serving the family.
