She was born Sept. 29, 1898, in Melbourne, Ark., the daughter of James Daniel and Amanda Elizabeth Dowdle Lawrence. She and the Rev. Allen Britten Cooper were married Feb. 8, 1918.
The Coopers were instrumental in building 15 churches in the Mississippi County area. She was named Missouri Mother of the Year in 1969.
Survivors include six daughters, Velna Brown, Julia Warren, Betty Hearnes, Rose Jordan, Jane Stacy and Jennie Cooper; a son, James Cooper; 19 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a grandson.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
