Mr. Cooper, 71 years old, Died Saturday at the Bertrand Retirement Home.
He was born Jan. 10, 1919, in Melbourne, Ark., the son of Rev. Allen Britten and May Lawrence Cooper.
He moved to Charleston in 1933, lived in Nevada, Mo. for 25 years, then returned to Charleston. He was a self-employed hearing aid consultant, and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include a son, Allen B. Cooper II; a daughter, Carole Cooper; his mother, a brother, Dr. James Cooper; six sisters, Velna Brown, Julia Warren, Betty Hearnes, Dr. Rose Jordan, Dr. Jennie Cooper and Jane Stacy.
