Charles was the son of James Mayberry (1840 – 1901) & Elizabeth Francis (McCartney) White (1843 – 1920).

His siblings were:

Charles married Lucy Jane "Jennie" Lee in McKinney, Collins Co, TX on August 5, 1891, by Justice of the Peace, W.A. Adams. Their names were shown as Charlie White and Miss Jennie Lee. He was 20 years old, & she was 15.

On June 19, 1900, Charles C., age 30 (March 1897), & Lucie J., 26 (Dec. 1873), lived in Justice Precinct 1, Rains Co, TX owned a farm, which helped to support them. They had been married 10 years. Lucy had given birth to four children, all of whom were still living. They were shown as Lillie M., 7 (March 1895); Ora A., 5 (July 1894); Cora E., 3 (Feb. 1897); & Robert M., 1 (Feb. 1899). Their son, Benjamin Leslie, was born on October 28, 1902.

Charles & Lucy lived about 1/2 west of Emory when he died at home from Typho-Malarial Fever on June 29, 1904. Lucy was left with five children, ages 11 to 2, and another one on the way. Mallie was born on Nov. 23, 1904.

Three years later, Lucy married a bachelor, Addison Randolph "Ran" Cowley, in Clay Co, TX.
