William & Amanda Jane Miller were married in Collin Co, TX by G.S. Wilson, Justice of the Peace.

They were living in Collin Co, TX when Amanda gave birth to three children. Sadly all perished. Their first baby was born & died on July 6, 1887; their second one, a son, was born on Sept. 30, 1889, & died Nov. 13, 1891; the third was born & died on June 13, 1892. All were buried in Grounds Cemetery located in Blueridge. William & Amanda's names were shown as T.W. & A.J. White on their tombstones. These three small stones attest to the tragedy & sadness that visited the family.

On April 16, 1893, ten months after losing their last child, they were in Farmersville, Collin Co, TX when Amanda gave birth to a healthy son, Oscar Freeman. She died in 1893, possibly during his birth.

It's unclear if William's parents came to Farmersville to help, or if he moved to Rains Co, TX with his baby son shortly after she died. On June 14, 1900, William, age 41, & Oscar, 7, & his parents, James M., 65, & Elizabeth, 61, lived in Justice Precinct 4, Rains Co, TX where he supported the family farming. A boarder, Luther B. Carrol, 26, helped with the farming. William's father died the following year.

On May 7, 1910, William, Oscar, & Elizabeth had moved and were living in Justice Precinct 6, Clay Co, TX. William was 49; Oscar 17; & Elizabeth 68.

Oscar married Sophia Ann Newman in Post Oak, Jack Co, TX on Sept. 10, 1913.

William & his mother were living in Sayre, Beckman Co, OK in January 1920 where he rented a home & farmed to support them. He was 61; his mother, 77. His son, Oscar & his family, as well as his brother, Robert & his family, lived in Merritt, a small community about 11 miles away.

On April 4, 1940, William, shown as Tomfie W., age 76, lived with his son & his family on a farm in Anahuac, Chambers Co, TX. The farm was valued at $2500. The census indicated the family had been living there in 1935. Oscar F., age 48, & his wife, Sophia, 51, were farmers. Lenord Smith, 30, also living with them, was a hired hand. Their children were Pauline, age 15, & Lorine, 10.

William died early in the morning at 5 a.m. on June 16, 1940, from a Cerebral Hemorrhage in the home of his son. He had lived 77 years, 10 months, & 6 days. His name was T.W. on his death certificate His son, shown as O.F. White of Anahuac, was the informant. He was buried June 17.
