Allen "Big Al" E. Schneider age 68 of 14628 W. Washington Road, Newton, died unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at his home.

He was born Feb. 29, 1936 in Sheboygan, son of the late Henry and Rosalia Wendel Schneider. He attended Kiel High School. On Nov. 10, 1962, he married Audrey Otto. Al farmed in the town of Meeme until 1977 when he moved to School Hill where he owned and operated Hardware Hank and also did welding. He was also a school bus driver for the Kiel School District for 27 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany. Al enjoyed hunting and model railroading.

Survivors are his four children: Sheryl (Michael) Leitner of Chilton, Pamela (Eugene) Wielgosh of Kiel, Kim Schneider and special friend Robert Salzman of Kiel, Vickie Schneider and special friend John Schmidt of Fond du Lac; four grandchildren, Aaron and Joseph Leitner and Aundreya and Alexander Henschel, one stepgrandson, Brandon Wielgosh, one brother, Richard (Lynda) Schneider of New Holstein, two sisters, Dianne Luchterhand of Charlesburg and Rita Schneider of Lancaster, Wis., numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend Claire
Reichart of Kiel. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane and Elaine.

Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Meiselwitz & Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 Sixth St., Kiel with the Rev. Raymond C. Coombs officiating.
Relatives and friends may call at Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home in Kiel from 2 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
