Anita M. Franzen, 66, of 13927 Nennig Ct. Kiel, died Saturday evening,
December 2, 2006 at Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center, New Holstein after
a courageous battle with cancer and complications of strokes.
She was the former Anita Schad, born April 12, 1940 in School Hill, daughter of
the late Joseph & Theresa Meyer Schad.
Anita attended Holy Trinity Grade School, Kiel High School and St. Gregory High
School, St. Nazianz.
On June 20, 1959 she married Glenroy Franzen at Holy Trinity Catholic Church,
School Hill.
Anita & Glenroy were former owners of Countryside RV in School Hill until retiring
in 1997. During their retirement the couple enjoyed traveling and spending winters
in Texas.
Anita was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill.
In her spare time she enjoyed making crafts as presents to her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Glenroy of 47 years, one daughter, Debbie (Scott)
Siehr of Manitowoc, two grandchildren, Holly Cogswell & Ethan Siehr and two step
grandchildren, Ryan & Brittany Siehr all of Manitowoc. She is further survived by
one brother, Alois Schad, St. Nazianz, two sisters, Josephine (Edwin) Schaefer,
School Hill, Bernie (Ervin) Madson, St. Nazianz , brothers and sisters-in-law,
Laverne & Edie Franzen, Florida, Diane & Paul Urner, Mercer, Wi., Bryan & Lynn
Franzen, Plymouth, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, David & Terry, six brothers, two sisters
and two infant grandchildren, born in heaven.
The funeral mass for Anita will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 7,
2006 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, School Hill with Rev. Gregory Coulthard &
Deacon James Steffen officiating.
Burial will take place in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, 815 6th. St., Kiel on
Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the funeral home from
9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. when brief family rites will be held.
A wake service will take place at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.

Blood Specialist and Calumet Homestead Rehabilitation Center & staff, New Holstein
