FRANK P. SCHAD

Frank P. Schad, age 73, of 18104 Highway X, Kiel, died Thursday afternoon, May 28, 1998, at his home after a declining illness.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 1998 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Kiel. Rev. Gerald Sirois and Deacon James Steffen will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
He was born October 27, 1924, in the town of Schleswig, son of the late Joseph P. and Theresa (Meyer) Schad. He attended school at Holy Trinity Grade School in School Hill. On April 12, 1950, he married Helen Schaefer at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Marytown. Frank farmed all his life in the town of Schleswig, until retiring in 1981. After his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and nature. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic church, School Hill, and a former member of the church’s Holy Name.
Survivors include his wife, Helen; nine children, Diane (Larry) Apel, Sheboygan Falls, Mike (Mickey) Schad, Littleton, Colo., Glen (Chris) Schad, Mesa, Ariz., Lee (Bev) Schad, Kiel, Gloria (Peter) Scharenbroch, St. Nazianz, Doreen (Joseph) Schmidt, Valders, Brian (Brenda) Schad, rural Elkhart Lake, Steve (Bobbie) Schad, Cleveland, Karen (Fritz) Plagemann, Kiel; 22 grandchildren, one great grandchild; four brothers, Barney Schad, Menominee Falls, Alley Schad, St. Nazianz, Ray (Alice) Schad, School Hill, and Roman (Janice) Schad, Kiel; three sisters, Josie (Eddie) Schaefer, School Hill, Bernie (Erv) Matzen, St. Nazianz, and Anita (Glenroy) Franzen, Kiel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
Frank was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman and Fritz; two sisters, Mary and Gertie; two brothers-in-law, Frank Litz and Kenny Schmitz; and three sisters-in-law, Lillian Schad, Dorothy Schad, and Lillian Schad.
Friends may call at the Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, on Monday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., when brief family rites will be held, followed by a procession to the church for the Mass of Christian Burial.
A Memorial has been established for the VNA Hospice program.
